Club Junior will provide youths with weekly Personal Training Sessions focused on Cardio Vascular, Free Weights, and Nutrition, all brought together to design a fitness regimen specifically for young adults. Our Trainer will help participants set goals and pave the road to a healthy future. UPON COMPLETION, each participant will be eligible to access the club facilities WITHOUT the accompaniment of an adult. Participants who have completed Club Junior are also eligible for our JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP with FULL access to the club for only $40 per month! > See Membership Services for details.

ENDURANCE TRAINING with Coach Tom
A multi-lesson package purchased from the club will entitle you to lessons from Coach Tom. You can select from one or all of the following:
Swim Lessons – In the outdoor 25 yard pool, coach Tom will work with you to improve your stroke, technique and endurance in any or all strokes. If you are training for triathlons, he can help with open water swimming tips and techniques. Alternatively, if you are new to swimming, he can build your swimming confidence and skills. He can also develop custom swim workouts to focus on your specific swim needs.
Bike Lessons – Utilizing one of the club’s spin cycles or outdoors on your own bike, coach Tom will focus on cycling form, technique and efficiency. Whether you want speed on the flats, strength on the climbs, skill on the descents or all three, coach Tom can help. And if you are new to the sport and need an introduction to safe cycling skills and clipless pedals (those pedals that your shoes attach to), coach Tom can help build your confidence.
Run Lessons – If you are looking to improve your 10k time, the run split of your triathlon or just looking for better form and technique running, coach Tom can help. Focusing on the bio-mechanics of running, coach Tom will not only make your faster, but reduce the stress and potential injury.
Triathlon – Whether you are considering your first triathlon or are a seasoned triathlete, coach Tom can help. Whether you need lessons in swimming (pool or open water), cycling or running, transitions, nutrition, race strategy or training plans, coach Tom can help you achieve your goals.
45 minute Coached Sessions: Choice of Run, Cycle or Swim or Combination
After competing in triathlons, cycling, running and swimming events for more than 10 years, Tom embarked on a coaching career after a lot of prompting from fellow athletes. Since 2003, Tom has provided personal coaching as well as group coaching through Team in Training. Tom also spent two years on the pool deck at Santa Clara Swim Club, where he successfully implemented a new “intermediate masters” swim program. He has coached hundreds of athletes, from 16 to 70 years old, new athletes to seasoned veterans, helping them to achieve their goal.
Tom arrived in Mendocino County earlier this year with his wife after spending many years in the San Francisco Bay Area. After organizing a successful “Campovida Granfondo” cycling event, which benefitted the Boys and Girls Club of Ukiah, he and his wife decided to relocate to Ukiah.
Tom currently has a Monday evening swim clinic, focusing on form and technique at Redwood Health Club. He also provides private lessons to club members and plans to increase the menu of coaching options, based on the needs of the community.
